Overview

Clinic Float RBT (PM) Job Description:

The Float RBT (PM) is responsible for the daily services delivered to clients in the clinic. The ideal candidate will be able to lead, train, and support new RBTs within the clinic setting while also providing direct ABA therapy to clients on a fill-in basis. Solid communication skills and openness to feedback are necessary. The Float RBT should be organized and self-sufficient to perform in this role successfully.

 

Responsibilities

Success measures include clinical outcomes first and foremost, as well as overall performance and productivity, client coverage and outcomes.

The below reflects the essential functions considered necessary for a Float RBT and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job or assigned by supervisory personnel. This job description is used as a guide only and is not inclusive of all responsibilities and job duties.

  1. Direct Services
    • Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy for no less than 20 billable hours per week.

      Daily Schedule will be:

      • 830am-12pm- Lunch/break coverage (float time) If there is a cancelation from another RBT, the float is expected to cover the direct session in lieu of non-billable time.
      • 12pm-4pm- Direct session with assigned client
      • 4pm-4:30pm- Cleaning, organizing, restocking supplies, close the clinic.

 

  • Cover direct sessions, as needed to ensure all clients receive therapy.
  • Support technician needs in clinic regarding breaks and maladaptive behaviors as needed.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in client’s individualized treatment plan built by BCBA
  • Ensure documentation is completed on time and following established procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA
  • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and appropriately report all critical incidents and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist BCBA in the preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
  • Assist in hosting Clinic events (activity days, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc.)
  • Support Clinic Manager with the schedule of all Behavior Technicians and clients within the Clinic
  • Aid in day-to-day administrative support in the Clinic, such as greeting clients, placing supply orders, faxing, filing, etc.
  • Fill in for Clinic Manager in their absence.
  • Other duties as designated by the Leadership

Other Competency Requirements

An initial assessment of competency will be completed during the interview period and evaluated on an ongoing basis.

  • Ability to follow written
  • Ability to use computers and computer/software
  • Ability to communicate expressively and receptively in order to follow IPOS requirements, emergency procedures, and report on activities performed.
  • Must be able to physically perform this job, including getting down on the floor and standing up many times, lifting up to 50lbs and the ability to run/move quickly if required to do so for the interaction with and safety and protection of the children with whom you work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong cultural competency with ability to remain flexible and open minded.
  • Need to be very reliable and able to show up for each scheduled therapy appointment.
  • Must always be professional in terms of both presentation and conduct.
  • Need to have patience to help keep our clients on task.
  • Able to maintain emotional control even if client acting out physically or verbally.
  • A positive attitude and drive to help a child acquire new skills is a must.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to do repetitive things in a precise manner.
  • Ability to follow and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Strong understanding of technology to be able to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.

Decision Making

  • Will collaborate closely with direct leader relative to approval on decisions of significance.

Working Conditions

  • Clinic's office hours vary by clinic, but are Monday through Friday.
  • Additional time or flex schedules may be required to complete the above work or meet company

Qualifications

These guidelines can be used to list qualifications required (or preferred) to perform the job successfully.

Education

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma of GED is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and in some cases, proof of driver’s license and valid car insurance.
  • Need to be at least 18 years of age.

Work Experience

  • 2+ years working with children and autism spectrum disorders

Physical Requirements:

  • Employee must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Bending and squatting for up to an hour per day.
  • Required to perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, bend kneel, squat sitting on floor level or in a chair, or standing for periods of time.
  • Kids are fast, so the ability to follow a child without restrictions throughout the center (sometimes at a rapid pace) is needed.
