Responsibilities

The Social Media Manager & Lead Content Creator is responsible for leading Golden Steps’ social media and content strategy across all platforms. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on creative execution—including video, content direction, analytics, and community leadership. 

You will own the full lifecycle of content: ideation, scripting, filming, editing, publishing, and performance measurement. You’ll also guide the broader organization on best practices, coach internal contributors, and ensure our social storytelling consistently reflects our mission, values, and people-centered approach. 

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that supports organization-wide goals including marketing, recruitment, culture/employee experience, and community engagement. 

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities 

Social Strategy & Leadership 

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with organizational goals. 
  • Establish platform-specific strategies for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. 
  • Define and own social KPIs; report insights to senior leadership. 
  • Serve as Golden Steps’ subject-matter expert on social trends, audience behavior, and brand storytelling. 
  • Provide creative guidance to regional teams and clinic leadership on capturing content that meets our standards. 

Content Creation & Creative Direction 

  • Lead the full production of high-quality short-form video content from concept to final edit. 
  • Direct on-site content shoots in clinics, community events, and team/local initiatives. 
  • Capture compelling photography and “day-in-the-life” storytelling that highlights clinicians, families, and culture. 
  • Build and refine our visual identity across social, ensuring consistency and creativity. 
  • Develop templates, content frameworks, and storytelling formats that can scale across markets. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner closely with Recruitment to drive employer branding and hiring campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to spotlight culture, recognition programs, and career pathways. 
  • Work with Marketing leadership to support organization-wide initiatives, launches, and announcements. 
  • Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, or freelance creators when necessary. 

Community Management & Brand Voice 

  • Oversee community engagement across platforms, ensuring timely, professional, and warm interactions. 
  • Serve as a brand steward—protecting HIPAA compliance, tone, and quality across all public-facing interactions. 
  • Monitor conversations within the autism and healthcare community to identify opportunities or risks. 

Analytics, Optimization & Innovation 

  • Track performance metrics, growth trends, and content effectiveness; prepare monthly and quarterly reports. 
  • Continuously refine strategy based on performance data and evolving platform landscapes. 
  • Test new formats, emerging channels, and innovative storytelling ideas to keep Golden Steps ahead of the curve. 

Benefits

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or brand storytelling. 
  • Proven experience developing and executing social strategy at scale (multi-location or multi-state preferred). 
  • Advanced video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar) a plus 
  • Strong photography skills and an understanding of visual composition. 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with a people-first tone. 
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and leading creative direction. 
  • Familiarity with healthcare, education, or mission-driven industries a plus. 
  • Ability to travel to clinics and markets 1–2 times per month for content capture. 
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA, privacy guidelines, and ethical storytelling.
