Role Overview:

 

As Director of Accounting, you will serve as a strategic leader within the organization, overseeing accounting operations and ensuring the financial integrity of Golden Steps. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls while supporting the company’s long-term financial objectives.

 

You will report directly to the CFO and partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial accuracy, optimize processes, and strengthen operational efficiency across the organization. In addition to maintaining strong fiscal oversight, you will lead initiatives that enhance reporting systems, support scalable growth, and ensure alignment between financial operations and the company’s broader business goals.

We provide individualized services to assist individuals to work on specific skills, and behaviors. Responsibilities

A day in the life:

 

  • Prepare Accurate and Timely Monthly Financials
    • NetSuite experience
    • Accrual based accounting capabilities (ASC 842 / ASC 606 (Fee-for-Service)
  • Experience developing Internal Controls and Risk Management
  • Manage Relationship with 3rd Party Audit Team
  • Partner with CFO / Billing / Payroll to improve processes
    • Payroll Automation
    • Financial Software Implementations
    • Monthly Cash Reconciliation Process
    • Budget to Actual Reporting
  • Qualities: Independent Problem Solving / Analytical Abilities / Excel Proficiency / Large Data Manipulation & Management
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus).
  • 8+ years of experience in Public Accounting or Organizational Accounting.
  • 3–5+ years managing accounting teams, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-location organization.
  • Experience overseeing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Experience managing audits, tax coordination, and regulatory compliance.
